Lucy Vartanian

Lucy Vartanian is a Film Director, born in Aleppo, Syria. She moved to Yerevan in the early 2010s.

In 2025, Lucy graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Mechanics, while simultaneously shaping her artistic voice through cinema. From 2023 to 2025, she studied Film Directing at “KINODPROTS” Film School, where she developed her cinematic language and directed her short student film Resonance.

Alongside her own directing work, Lucy has been actively involved in numerous youth film productions, collaborating with creative teams, production companies working on commercials, music videos, and television projects.

Lucy was also shortlisted for Next Step Studio 2027, a program by La Semaine de la Critique at the Cannes Film Festival and currently developing her first feature-length fiction project.

She is currently studying in an intensive acting laboratory, exploring character and performance from a different perspective. Moving between directing and acting, she is interested in how people express themselves, how relationships shape them, and how these experiences can be brought to the screen through simple and honest storytelling.
